SOI LEK'S TRUE COLORS: I support KJ's mobile outdoor screening of Tanda Putera
Written by Chua Soi Lek
The outcry by the DAP on the screening of Tanda Putera shows the true colours of the DAP.
While on one hand they champion the freedom of expression, on the other hand they are forcing cinemas not to screen the recently released movie.
The DAP adopts selective prosecution and are being double standard in tackling issues.
I am sure Lim Guan Eng has not seen the movie either but his mouth has already shot out absurdities and casting aspersions.
He should not deny the Penang people of a chance to watch the movie and making their own assumptions rather than him making up the minds for the people.
Guan Eng should not underestimate the intelligence of the people and allow the people to decide if they want to watch the movie.
The people are matured enough to rationalise and distinguish what is good and bad for them.
This is what democracy is all about which they always seem to talk about but not teaching what they preach.
Guan Eng claims that the screening of the movie can incite racial hatred but listening to several of DAP’s ceramah, they in fact incite racial hatred.
The speeches of some of its leaders has been known to inflame the hatred of the Chinese towards other ethnic groups.
I support the proposal by the Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin to organise mobile outdoor screenings of the film.
The people should be allowed to decide for themselves whether Tanda Putera depicts the real May 13 incident or otherwise.
